About the Event

Join us for another evening of networking and great conversation around I/O Psychology at another  SEBOC Rocky Mountain Region Virtual Meetup. This meet-up will be done virtually. Come share ideas and network with others interested in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from your region.

Hosted by Danielle Suprick, Jeannie McCoy, and Farra Winters.

Topic: Burnout and Boundary Management

Summary: Many recent studies on remote work, burnout, and boundary management capture labor force circumstances that began to arise from the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, only people in leadership roles were granted the autonomy to work remotely. Research was performed to explore this gap in organizational research and gain better insight into burnout across all areas of organizational hierarchies as it reflects our current labor landscape. With survey methods, the investigator found supportive evidence that resistance to remote worker burnout depends on organizational standards and individual traits. These findings prompt several questions about creating an organizational culture of psychological safety, encouraging boundary management, and promoting self-leadership skills as the ideal characteristics for working remotely and maintaining general well-being.

*You do not have to be a SEBOC member to attend. This networking event is for anyone new to the field, experienced in the field, or considering the field of I/O psychology (and any other related fields of study!). Consider sharing this event with your network!
